WHY BECOMING A CHEF IS A GOOD DECISION

With an internationally accredited qualification a chef is able to travel the world, expose themselves to global cuisines, meet different cultures and expand on their culinary knowledge. It is a trade that is ALWAYS useful in one of the biggest and fastest growing industries. In fact; The BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics) expected a 9% increase in jobs for chefs and head cooks between 2014 and 2024. This rate is faster than the average for all occupations, which the BLS attributed to the public’s increasing demand for dining convenience and healthy meal options. Below we expand on why CTIA would be the best culinary school option for you.

NATIONAL FOOTPRINT

CTIA boasts three modern campuses in Centurion, Durban and Stellenbosch respectively. All campuses are located in popular student hubs, with our Centurion campus even offering students a FREE shuttle service to and from the Gautrain station. Our Durban Campus is close to the city centre and buzzing night life. The most recent Stellenbosch campus offers an inspiring and serene environment flooding with artisanal foodie and drink locations.

ALL INCLUSIVE FEES

From uniforms to safety shoes, through to textbooks and exam fees, students enrolled at CTIA will have no additional hidden expenses throughout their course duration. Fast FREE wifi is also available to all students on campus. To receive a full list of what our course fees include please ask a friendly career consultant to send through.

FULL-TIME, PART-TIME & IN-SERVICE TRAINING

CTIA offers culinary, patisserie and hospitality management courses on a full-time basis, with some courses also available on a part-time basis. We are also excited to introduce in-service training which will be coming soon.

SMALL CLASSES

CTIA is renowned for its in-depth training provided by experienced chef lecturers with over 200 years combined experience. Classes are kept small to ensure sufficient one-on-one time with each student and lecturers are able to get to know each student and their strengths. This is vital to the growth of each student. Our innovative approach to culinary arts is evident in our past students who continue to flourish in the industry, and have benefited from our full day classes. Read our alumni stories to see their successes here.

NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

All our courses are accredited either nationally or internationally. We are accredited by the leading City and Guilds and CTH internationally, and we are the only school in South Africa currently offering fast track accreditation with WACS (World Association of Chefs’ Societies). Nationally we are accredited with the QCTO and are members of the South African Chefs Association. We believe in the importance of exposing our students to chef societies both nationally and internationally with all students receiving a student membership to SACA.

EVENTS

CTIA students have the possibility to impress with their skills at events throughout their course duration. From student competitions, networking, excursions to industry/mentor talks and social responsibility. There will always be something for each student to look forward to which will enable their growth.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL & FURTHER STUDIES

With CTIA your dreams to travel the world as a qualified chef can be a reality. CTIA assists in placements after your course has been completed both locally and internationally. So, whether your dream is to work in a restaurant, on a luxury yacht or at a lodge CTIA has you covered. Students are also given the opportunity to further their studies abroad with the BHMS or NH Hotel Group which CTIA has forged strong partnerships with over the years.
