WHAT TO EXPECT

This programme provides students with in-depth knowledge of the managerial, decision-making and leadership aspects of the hospitality industry. It is also designed to give you the independent research and study skills you’ll need when working at senior managerial level in the industry.

NEED TO KNOW

This programme can be thought of as a career booster, as it is an excellent preparation for a more specialised entry to the workplace. It can also be used to enrol for a final year bachelor’s degree-level study online at the University of Derby, or other options abroad, which are available on the CTH website.

THE NITTY GRITTY

Entry requirements

Entrants must have completed:

  • The CTH Level 4 Undergraduate Programme in Hospitality & Tourism

OR

  • NQF Level 5 Higher Certificate in Hospitality;

OR

  • Evidence of at least four years’ work experience in the hospitality industry, which must include two years at supervisory or management level. Students should have successfully completed secondary education, and preferably have gained a post-school qualification in any subject.

 

Additionally, entrants are required to have:

  • English proficiency;
  • Access to a laptop, PC or tablet with Microsoft Office, email, PDF viewing software and a stable Internet connection;
  • Access to a scanner (either using a printer or smart phone).

 

This programme is accredited by the Confederation of Tourism and Hospitality (CTH).

This is an internationally accredited programme, which is registered under the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England. This is not a South African qualification.

Mode of delivery: Online

Examination modules are written at your nearest CTIA campus.

Assignment modules are submitted electronically.

 

You will graduate with the following certification:

  • CTH Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management
