- Knife skills: Watch any chef competition, and knife skills are often one of the first areas where talented competitors show off their skills. While writers have their pens and artists have their paintbrushes, chefs have their knives. A chef’s knife is perhaps one of the most important tools in the kitchen. Students at our chef school will learn technical knife skills, including chopping, dicing, slicing, chiffonading, and julienning. Students will also learn how to correctly grip the knife and how to use their supporting hand effectively to maximise safety precautions.
- Diverse food knowledge: The culinary world is characterised by an eclectic offering of delicious spices and ingredients from around the planet. Students at our chef school will learn the art of global cuisine and understand the unique flavours that differentiate diverse regional dishes.
